Mark Thompson, MBA, serves as Chief Transformational Investments and Value Integration Officer for Froedtert ThedaCare Health. In this role, he is responsible for identifying emerging trends in healthcare, influencing organizational strategy, and partnering both internally and externally to drive investments and realization of transformation. He leads the enterprise's investment portfolio of initiatives and projects designed to transform the way healthcare is delivered.
Mark joined ThedaCare in 2017 as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, where he led the organization to strong financial performance. During his tenure, he directed major community investments for healthcare programs and services to advance ThedaCare's mission of improving the health and well-being of communities served.
Prior to joining ThedaCare, Mark built an extensive career in healthcare leadership across multiple organizations. He served as Regional Chief Financial Officer for Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, and as Chief Operating Officer at Lourdes Hospital in Kentucky. His experience also includes roles as COO/CFO at Morristown Hamblen Hospital in Tennessee, COO at Murray Calloway County Hospital in Kentucky, CFO at WestCare in North Carolina, and Controller at Pacific Medical Center in Washington. Earlier in his career, Mark worked as a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG in Washington, building a strong foundation in financial management and analysis.
Mark earned his Master of Business Administration from Seattle University and received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Washington. His combination of financial expertise and operational leadership has enabled him to drive meaningful transformation in healthcare delivery models and organizational performance.
Throughout his career, Mark has demonstrated a commitment to improving healthcare value and accessibility through strategic investments and operational excellence. His current focus on transformational investments positions Froedtert ThedaCare Health to adapt to the evolving healthcare landscape and deliver innovative solutions to meet patient and community needs.
Mark and his wife, Georgie, have four children and five grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and visiting family residing in many areas of the country.
